Catholic Academics in Paramus, New Jersey

At Paramus Catholic High School, we pride ourselves on offering excellent academic programs with a faith-based vision. The largest private co-educational school in Paramus, New Jersey, our campus offers students a space to grow with an inclusive sense of community and superior Catholic school education.

Curriculum & Academic Programs

Courses at Paramus Catholic High School are designed to prepare students for college academics by providing them not only with knowledge but also the spiritual and social tools to succeed. Through diverse course offerings, our educators strive to encourage personalized learning with classes available at the college prep, honors, and advanced placement levels.

Over four years of study, students will receive instruction in such subjects as:

  • Theology
  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • International languages
  • Computer technology
  • Business
  • Fine and performing arts
  • Physical education and health

Our well-rounded curriculum also offers the opportunity for deepened scholarly experiences through individual learning programs, including:

           The Aquinas Scholars Program

Offered by invitation only, this program features an accelerated set of classes that meet or exceed typical high school diploma requirements. Featuring nearly all advanced placement courses, the program provides students with intensive study, as well as a senior year interdisciplinary seminar.

           The Project Acceleration Program

Offered in partnership with Seton Hall University, this acceleration program allows students to earn up to 22 credits before they even graduate through advanced placement classes. These college credits are transferable to other accredited universities, and the program offers a variety of courses for study.

The rich academic life offered at our institution is enhanced by the personal attention students receive. With an average of 25 students per class, and no class section exceeding 30, faculty can better focus on the individual needs of every student that walks our halls.

Utilizing Immersive Technology

We believe the academic experience can be enhanced with technology while still emphasizing a classroom interface between teachers and students. Featuring a “Bring Your Own Device” 1:1 program, students bring their own Apple iPad to school daily so that technological instruction can be integrated into their classrooms. This allows students to easily work in a variety of ways, with quick connections inside the building and out.

Additional technological resources available through Paramus Catholic High School include:

  • Three computer labs
  • Campus-wide Wi-Fi
  • A state-of-the-art television studio
  • A library media center
  • Digital photography and CAD/CAM computer lab
  • The Virtual High School online courses

Student Wellness and Guidance

We know that students need a supportive foundation to succeed. That is why Paramus Catholic High School complements its academic curriculum with the Student Wellness Program. This innovative approach seeks to enrich students’ educational experiences in the following ways:

  • A mandate declaring no tests scheduled or homework due on Mondays
  • Virtual learning study on Fridays
  • Bi-monthly Wellness Fridays, with school ending at 12:30 on those days
  • The Principal’s Impact Team encouraging student opinions
  • And more.

Our holistic educational vision is heightened by our guidance department. Guidance counselors work with students of all grades to nurture academic excellence, spiritual growth, and social development.
