Principal's Welcome

Dear Paramus Catholic Families,

Governor Phil Murphy stated, “This is an unprecedented time for our students and educators, but we are pleased to announce that we anticipate the return to our classrooms in some capacity this fall.” Governor Murphycontinued, “The return to school will pose challenges, but we are confident that New Jersey’s school districts can move forward in a way that best serves the needs of their district while also achieving a safe environment for students and staff.”

It is under this advisement and guidance that Paramus Catholic High School will reopen school in September 2020. We have worked hard during the summer months to accommodate NJ State guidelines and feel confident to open our doors again. Paramus Catholic continues to offer a quality education both virtually and physically.

During this summer, the building has been closed to non-staff. Summer school was virtual, camps did not take place, and rentals did not occur. This took a bit of a toll on our summer budget, but it is my priority to prepare the school building for the reopening of the 2020-2021 school year. My intention and that of my colleagues is that everyone returns feeling at ease and confident. Included in this plan are the new practices and protocols needed to maintain a safe and healthy environment. Our goal is to collaboratively ensure you feel safe and secure so we can navigate the complexities of our “new normal”.

Included is the reopening plan for September 2020, which was challenging and complex. In developing this plan, I weighed the input of the administrative team, faculty, staff, parents, and students. Survey responses were read and individual needs were notedWhile planning the school’s reopening, I took into account various family dynamics. I believe that this plan accounts for the health and safety of all stakeholders.

If the Governor of New Jersey mandates a specific option, PC is prepared and strong.  Please understand, that all students and families must be at the ready should instruction become 100% virtual.

In order for us to ease into a comfort level, instruction will be virtual for all students and teachers on FridaysParamus Catholic is prepared for all options of learning, ensuring that the curriculum is taught.

I ask that we all continue to do our part in maintaining social distance protocols as well as testing when necessary so that we all can remain healthy and safe. If you have any questions or concerns please email me at smacaluso@paramus-catholic.org.

Thank you for your continued support.

In your gratitude,

Dr. Stephanie Macaluso, Principal
