Our Student Wellness Program in Paramus, New Jersey

At Paramus Catholic High School, student health and wellness are top priorities. Our teachers, administration, and staff understand that balancing spiritual, emotional, academic, and physical wellness is vital to the success of our students. Encouraging this mindset is important for their well-being today and in the future.

A Holistic Approach to Student Wellness

Our student wellness program is integrated into the overarching school philosophy, and Paramus Catholic High School fully supports the well-being of all its students. Pupils are encouraged to maintain a healthy balance of work and relaxation, so they feel ready to succeed in academics, spiritual endeavors, athletics, and beyond. We also encourage mental wellness activities for students to maintain more than just their physical health.

Students are encouraged to schedule downtime to relax, pursue hobbies, follow their interests, and spend time with friends and family. To support this attitude school-wide, Mondays are exempt from test scheduling and homework due dates (except exam week). This gives our students the freedom to fully enjoy their weekends.

This academic policy also applies to our dedicated faculty. One way we support their health and well-being is by mandating that grades are not due on Mondays at the end of each marking period. We hope that this policy and others allow our faculty to rest and recharge outside the classroom, as well.

Additionally, our guidance department is available to help students find the support they need to thrive. Our counselors support the needs of every student, facilitating the college preparation process, parent-teacher/student-teacher relationships, and much more.
