Administrative, supervisory, and interpersonal skills
Specific Duties/Responsibilities: The following specific responsibilities are representative of duties required in this position. They may be unilaterally but reasonably changed based on the working environment and archdiocesan needs
Coordinate the efforts of faculty, staff, students, and parents in promoting a Catholic community of faith.
Responsible for maintenance of the School’s educational standards, the administration of the educational program, the supervision and administration of the curriculum and School program;
Responsible for the implementation of the School policies,
Articulate, promote and maintain the Catholic identity of the School and foster an atmosphere in which a community of faith can grow;
Oversee enrollment activities of the School
Recruit and register students
Recruit, hire, onboard and supervise staff in consultation with the appropriate persons in management;
Provide professional leadership for, and promote the professional growth of staff and ensure that each teacher and staff member receives a written annual evaluation with appropriate, constructive feedback;
Coordinate facility management efforts of the School;
Responsible for the maintenance of safe access to the School building and grounds for students, staff, and others;
Implement effective activities or initiatives to promote the School;
Enthusiastically engage and maintain good relationships with businesses, community leaders, and related stakeholders to seek opportunities to support the mission and vision of the School;
Maintain good relationships with parents, alumni, Catholic parishes, and civic community, and treat all students, parents, faculty, and staff in a respectful and professional manner including maintaining confidentiality in both personnel and sensitive and/or personal matters;
Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding testing, curriculum updating, and the educational progress of their children;
Attend all administrators’ meetings, School board meetings, Parent Association meetings, and required meetings as scheduled by the Superintendent of Schools;
Represent the School before the Archdiocese of Newark, state authorities, local civic officials, community agencies, parishes, and the media in consultation with the Archdiocese of Newark Office of Communications as appropriate;
Prepare the School budget and establish tuition rates and fees in consultation with responsible parties and closely monitor the collection of tuition and fees;
Exercise internal control of School finance if there is no School President, including but not limited to:
The maintenance of accurate books and records;
Establish and monitor fundraising and development objectives affecting the School.
Prepare the School calendar in consultation with responsible parties including
faculty and the advisory board;
Abide by all policies of the School, including those set forth in the Archdiocese of Newark’s Policies on Professional and Ministerial Conduct, including the Code of Ethics, and the Administrative Manual for the Catholic Schools Archdiocese of Newark, as they may be amended from time to time; and
Avoid activities, professional or otherwise, which would infringe upon the proper performance of the Administrative duties.

Requirements
Education and/or Experience
Minimum of an MA degree in the field of education, preferably in administration, supervision, and/or curriculum.
A NJ Principal and/or supervisor certificate or its reciprocal is required
At least five years of successful teaching or administrative experience on the high school level.
