Dear Paramus Catholic Families,
During these challenging times, we may need help dealing with this situation or a loss of a loved one. There are numerous agencies available to assist us, and they are offering services and guidance in many formats. We encourage you to reach-out to your school counselor if you are looking for a referral. We can refer your student to a counselor who would be a good fit for him/her and one who specializes in the area of need. You can let us know what insurance you have and we can go from there. Here are some other resources:
- One highly regarded agency is Hearts and Crafts which is a local agency that provides grief counseling remotely. They are located in Hillsdale NJ: http://heartsandcraftscounseling.org/
- The Joseph T. Quinlan Bereavement Center continues to meet the needs of those in our community grieving the loss of a loved one: https://www.karenannquinlanhospice.org/
- Good Grief has excellent information on their website about supporting the bereaved during COVID -19. Since we are not always able to visit those who experienced a loss, they give advice on how to support in other ways. Here are the links: https://good-grief.org/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Supporting-the-Bereaved-During-COVID-19.pdf, https://good-grief.org/covid-19/
- Many insurance companies have pages that are dedicated to issues as a result of the COVID 19. Here is one: Blue Cross/Blue Shield
The guidance department is here to help you. Please do not hesitate to reach out to anyone one of us. We miss you all and wish you and your family good health.
