• Since students attending Paramus Catholic come from varied backgrounds and faiths, this freshman course is designed to familiarize all students with the tenets of the Roman Catholic Church and build a basic and common religious vocab­ulary and literacy for the next three years at the school and throughout their adult lives. It is also designed to foster personal and faith growth in a faith com­munity. Based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the course includes topics such as the Trinity, Jesus, Mary, and an introduction to the Scriptures, Church, Sacraments, Morality and Prayer. The texts used are structured on the four parts of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC). In addition, all stu­dents in this course are required to complete 16 hours of community service.
